Who can I contact if I feel as though there is some misconduct happening in my Federal Case?

I have a federal court appointed attorney and I think he is in with the prosecution! He wants me to plead guilty in a plea agreement that is not true, but his says if I don't accept that the prosecutor will charge me with everything. I live in NC and the case is in NY and I am scared and confused. Who can I contact for help?Who can I contact if I feel as though there is some misconduct happening in my Federal Case?
You are accused of a federal crime and you have no money for presentation. You have two choices -- rely on the advice of your appointed attorney or go hire a private one. Trust me, your attorney is not in bed with the prosecution. That just doesn't happen. Clearly, what is going on is that your attorney has not adequately explained to you what is going on. Ask for clarification.

As for your allegation that your attorney is in bed with the prosecution, I can almost guarantee that nobody is going to take that claim seriously. Especially in a NY federal court. Your playing with the big dogs and this is something they just don't do.

I know you're scared. Talk to your attorney. Let him/her know that you're scared and ask for clarification.

the only other option you may have is to ask the court's permission to fire your attorney and have a new one appointed.Who can I contact if I feel as though there is some misconduct happening in my Federal Case?
Bluegus is the only person who is giving you correct information. Your attorney is not working with the prosecution, nor is he incompetent. He is giving you the best advice he can give you based upon his experience in the court and his assessment of the evidence. Public Defenders are often the most qualified to represent you, since they work in the court system all the time, and know it backwards and forwards. You certainly have the right to insist that he carefully and fully explain your options to you. However, although Public Defenders are used to unjustified insults, you are probably going to have a better experience if you do not do so.

You never have to plead guilty to anything. However, do not be surprised if you reject the plea agreement, the prosecutor files additional charges, and you get a conviction you could have avoided by listening to your lawyer.
in Seattle we have an A bonsman and they have the right to check on court cases ;that people are getting screwed on ..call information and they can give you the number,,, i think there in every state..i had a court attorney a public defender. and they sometimes.go with the judge or the state utterer... i call them public pretenders;and lots of them earn the name,,,,good-luck and hang in there
That's the facts in the criminal justice system here. It is a total misuse of the legal system, and your lawyer is probably advising you of your best options, under the circumstances.

To get a court appointed lawyer to actually work hard on your case is unrealistic. Then too, ask yourself if you are actually guilty, and if so, take the plea. If not, well, you can ask the judge to assign someone who is willing to defend your innocence.

There was a cartoon in the New Yorker many years ago that I have not forgotten: this guy is in a lawyer's office and the lawyer is saying to the client, ';Just how much justice can you afford, Mr. Jones?';
Tell your attorney that you insist on taking a lie detector test. After you prove yourself innocent the ball will be in your court.
my heart Geo's out to you because I have seen so many poor people in your same situation, and they are forced into pleading guilty to a crime in many cases they have not even heard of, but America has become a police state, your public defender or ';public pretender ';as they are called is paid by the state or gov, and he is paid to get you convicted period, I have been in the defense for over 20 years and it keeps getting worse, we had a 62%conviction ratio in the 50s today we have a 98.8%conviction ratio, therefore only the ultra rich can buy justice, there is no such thing as justice in our courts anymore the only thing I could recommend is for you to try and negotiate a lesser crime to plead guilty and get less time, but, don't give them the satisfaction of you ratting off others for less time it will destroy your self esteem,

bluegus, you know better than that, so doe's anyone else who is in the business, many who are not,
