I am in pre-law at my local university and I need to do an in-depth case study of some federal court cases. I don't want to pick ones that my other classmates are doing, so I thought that an online search of a database would be helpful. Can anyone point me in the direction of a legitimate database site that contains this information? How to find federal court cases?
As a lawyer myself, I have used online databases several times. The only one that I turn to consistently would be www.recordssitereviews.com. They have access to the most inclusive and complete information in the country. Whether you choose a high profile bankruptcy case, a criminal case, or rulings on such things as abortions, immigration, or civil rights, this site will return all of the information that you will need. You can even get the attorney's information who tried the case. Their database is updated daily so you can find very relevant cases for our time and you get a 60-day money back guarantee if you do not find what you're looking for or the information is incomplete or bogus. It's nice to have that type of insurance when you're spending money to find information. But, that's how you know that this site is legit and not just another con out there trying to steal your cash. How to find federal court cases?
pacer is the federal courts system. most recentcase have full dockets available at $.08 per page (up to 2.40 per documnet)
Also justia, bulk.resources.org have cases online. an easy way is just to google ';district court'; or '; in the district of ...'; include a specific staute to find cases on that topic, or party name to find case from a particluar company.
