It just depends. There is no ';for sure'; on this one. Your attorney could tell you based on his/her experience in that particular jurisdiction, with that particular crime, and that particular judge. I've never seen anyone go 6 months before being placed in jail. I have seen them get a week or two to tie things up beforehand, or because the prison just didn't have room. But, more often than not, they are taken in either immediately after the sentencing hearing or the next morning.In Federal Cases, does anyone know how long after sentencing do you got to jail ?
dont know the true answer cause ive never done fed..but normally on a state conviction and sentencing you go right then..why would fed be any different..your all housed in the same place and they dont want to see you run after they have given you the time..you mean sentence someone to ten years and say thats ok come back later you can start your sentence then..appeals as far as i know are done when your incarcerated,,,
Depends on the crime, usually you go directly to jail as soon as you are convicted of a crime, so would need to know more information
