Besides being tried in the district where they occur - it is easier to hold the trial in a location convenient to the prosecutors, witnesses, lawyers etc.Why Are Federal Cases Tried In The Same States In Which The Crimes Are Committed?
They are usually tried within the Federal District in which they occur. I think the Federal districts roughly correspond to states. Although there might be a few that encompass more than one state.
The sixth amendment provides the right to a speedy and public in the state and district in which the crime was committed.
